I have tried almost every antidepressant known to mankind and none of them have worked for me. I've spent a ton of money trying to take medicine to make myself feel better. The main reason is because I cry for no reason. I do believe that people with depression are very creative which is good but it's not good for tears to start rolling down your face at work or in front of your children. People say, "chin-up, pray it away, will it away, exercise more, you're only as happy as you make yourself." If it were only that easy. They don't understand that if I could do that I most certainly would. I really don't know what the answer is but wanted to leave a comment because I'm sure there are other people in this world who are in the same boat as me. I also want to say never, never, never give up - you're here for a reason:)

Thank God someone besides myself is finally figuring this out! I have been having this argument with family members and members of the medical community(physicians and nurses) for over 25 years. They started pushing prozac back then because there was no correct diagnosis for all of these symptoms and it is pretty much still the same. If we all do not act and feel the same as the majority of citizens do- then we are considered depressed and need to take a pill! How ridiculous is that! This country would not be what it is today if this idea would have been in effect 200 years ago. Just think if antidepressants would have been available back then how many wonderful inventions would never have been followed through with because all of these "inventors" that became despondent, after a slight failure, would have been put on "medication" before they acheived major success!! I am pretty sure I would not be typing this on a computer, using electricity and the internet to state my opinion on this matter. We need to learn to accept the fact that there is NO PILL that will make or keep us happy. Anti depressants might take the reality of your life away for awhile but eventually reality will return and you have to accept that life does not usually turn out the way we have it planned. Then all you can do is make the best of "the hand you were dealt" (as my daddy always said) by trying to live as good a life as possible by setting some goals, working hard to achieve them and loving your family, friends, and neighbors. Then hopefully we will leave our future generations to do the same.
